* Upon take off, an Il-86, Flight 483, registration N452SK, owned by the second Skytran Airline suffered an engine failure shortly after take off from MYR. The pilot was able to sucessfully land in a field 5 NM away. 5 out of the 7 crew on board survived, and 343 out of the 350 passengers on board survived. The aircraft was written off. This incident along with the bankruptcy led to the 2nd Skytran to reconstruct.<br />

* Upon take-off from Orlando International, an Airbus A320-200 en route to Miami had a temporary engine failure. The aircraft (G-JVVF) had to go around and were granted immediate landing at Orlando. All flights operated by the aircraft that day had to be cancelled.<br />
