== Buying/Leasing an aircraft ==

To buy or lease an aircraft, go to the buy (new or used) aircraft tab. When you buy/lease an aircraft, you will have to wait a few months for it to arrive.

=== Leasing ===

To lease, find the plane you would like then select lease. Choose which engines you want then choose how many of the aircraft you want. Then click negotiate. If you have enough money, select 'lease aircraft'. You will need to pay a fee depending on the aircraft and configuration you've chosen.
Your credit rating affects the number of planes you can lease at one time. This is determined by how well you can pay your leases on time. Leases are paid each month automatically if you have enough money.

To buy an aircraft, select the aircraft you want then select the shopping cart in the new aircraft page and the check bot then the buy aircraft button on the used aircraft page. Once again you will need to choose which engines and how many of the airplane you want, push negotiate, and then pay at least half of the total cost of the aircraft to buy the aircraft. You can not buy the aircraft without less then 50% of what you must pay for the airplane.

== Selling an aircraft ==
To sell an aircraft, select the sell aircraft tab. Select the aircraft you want to sell, and then click sell aircraft. The website will tell you how much you will sell the aircraft for, then click sell aircraft again.

Once you've bought an aircraft, you are able to customize it. First, go to the configure cabin layout tab on the right of the page. Second, choose create new configuration and then choose for which aircraft. You then need to choose how many of each class you want on your planes, choose wisely!
Once your done, and the configuration is created,at the bottom of the list of your configurations is a few lists. '''The aircraft you have selected ''MUST'' be the same as the type of configuration's airplane type!''' Once that's done click install and then pay for the installation. There you go! You have customized you planes!

Aircraft are the most important thing in Airline Empires, without them you would be nothing!! in this part of the tutorial I will show you how to get your first aircraft.

==Acquiring New Aircraft==

Getting new aircraft is not only much more beneficial financially in the long run it is also the best way to expand. There are two ways of acquiring aircraft in Airline Empires and they are; buying and leasing. Firstly click [[file:07_Order_New_Aircraft.png]], this will get you started.

Leasing aircraft is the quick and cheap way of acquiring aircraft quickly, it does have a negative effect as you must pay monthly lease payments, if you miss these payments your aircraft can be seized (after three warnings). It also has a negative impact on your credit rating and your ranking. If all your aircraft are leased your ranking is based on how much money you have i.e you lease an aircraft your valuation will go down by the money you spent. If you purchase aircraft however your valuation will be based on how much cash you have and fixed assets (value of all your aircraft).

*Negotiate how many aircraft you would like and how long you wish to lease them for. Choose seat configuration and addons.

You can get used aircraft almost the same way as new aircraft other than the fact that the aircraft on the market may not be the aircraft you want. You should be very careful purchasing older planes as they require much more fuel and the maintenance.

Managing hubs

Once you have 5 gates rented at a chosen airport, you may open a hub there. In AE, hubs do increase maintenance costs but produce connecting PAX. Connecting PAX can increase the amount of total revenue of the hub or hubs the aircraft is flying from/to. Hubs also let you have more than 5 gates at the chosen airport. To create a new hub, go to the manage hubs tab. Select the airport you want to open a hub at (remember you must have 5 gates). Then click open hub. You will need to pay a starter fee varying on which airport your opening the hub at.

If you want to close a hub, all you need to do is go to the manage hubs tab, select the hub you want to close, and click close hub. After you pay the fee to shut the hub down, you have no hub at the airport anymore.

Connecting passengers are currently based on hub size. These passengers usually cannot sustain a route though and you should not rely on these except as a bonus. In the future they may work differently.

Airline Empires is an airline management simulation. With the many members it has there is a LOT of competition, and if you're startng out, that kind of spoils the fun a bit. But if you have good strategies you can build your airline quickly, here are some tips to get you started:

When you've just started your airline the game is at its hardest. So, in order to make sure your profit builds for later on, here are the first tips:

'''Start in an airport with many surrounding cities'''. If you pick an airport in the middle of nowhere, your aircraft probably won't be able to fly the range to far-flung areas.

'''Fly to nearby areas'''. Big profit comes from close areas (we don't mean Melbourne- Melbourne Essedon, that doen't work)

'''Big+Big=BIG!'''. Fly between bigger airports. Starting in areas in the EU also gives you a boost, especially in realistic sims. You can fly between big cities and the routes have lots of demand! The more demand= the more loaded the plane. The more loaded the plane=more people paying. More people paying=more money for you. More money for you= BIG BUCKS! This does not mean that you should fly only over saturated, high demand routes. Many small(er) routes can be profitable also.

Keep raising your prices until your plane(s) are no longer full (<90%. Then lower the prices by about $50 until your plane(s) are loaded again (>90%). Then, raise your price again a dollar at a time till you hit the maximum profit potential!
