Setting up a route network is the primary aim of Airline Empires. In this tutorial you will be shown exactly how do that.

Before starting up a route, you must find the city pair you would like to establish. It can be done by using the "Route Research" function:-

1. Enter the city pair you are interested in and click search.

*Once you are on the route details page you will see a lot of information on the page. For now you do not need to worry about that this will be explained later. What you need to first is click the add flights button as shown:

2. It will show details of flight between these two cities. You may decide whether it is profitable by comparing the supply & demand figure, number of competitors, ticket prices for current operators, etc.

*Now you are taken to a screen were you will select the aircraft and frequency as well as the ticket price. Again do not worry about the rest of the information on the page, this will be dealt with later.

*I am going to choose the BAE 146, and i want to fly this route with a frequency of 14 flights weekly (2 a day).

3. Don't forget to check for the distant between the two cities you choose and make sure the aircraft you assign has sufficient range.

*Now you have to set the price of your flight and click continue.

To set up a route, you must have the following:-

*You have now set up your first route!

*You will find yourself back at the main route details page. Here you will see if your route is making you money.

1. Origination and Destination airports' gates (with enough slot).

*Loadfactor is how full your plane is. Profit is how much money you are making on that route (excluding gate costs)

2. An aircraft with sufficient range and enough available time for a round trip journey plus turn time.

Then the process for setting up a route is relatively simple:-

1. Click “Open New Route” and enter the city pair.

2. It will show aircraft with sufficient range and time available at the bottom of the page.

3. Choose the aircraft you would like to operate the route. You may choose more than one aircraft jointly operating the route. (***if you find that the frequency available it shows is fewer than the aircraft(s) can operate, check the number of time slots at the right and ensure you have sufficient slots.***).

4. Decide the ticket price for the route. You may compare the price with you competitors to ensure your airline is competitive.

5. Click “Open Route” to continuous.

6. You will be directed to the “Route Details” where you can see the occupancy for your newly established route. Fine-tune you ticket price to make a balance between profit and occupancy. Remember: 100% Occupancy is NOT equal to maximum profit!!

Afterward, you may find your route(s) by clicking the “Route” function.
