| + | ==== June 1, 1996 ==== | ||
| + | |||
| + | With the recent delivery of there latest order of 747D's and STD's Pacific have placed another order for 5 of each with manufacture Boeing. The CEO of Pacific had this to say, "These aircraft work well with our route network, replacing smaller aircraft on major routes to the more preferred, bigger and faster ones. Both series have been proven a success even with there very different tasks. Doubling our order allows us to advance even more into Europe, as you can see we are now and with some new 747D's, we will be able to set up a new Hub in Asia somewhere". | ||
| + | |||
| + | In other news, Pacific have extended there Taiuan terminal too 19 gates from the previous 19, providing expansion into Russia and other targets of travel in the old Soviet empire following the break up in 1990. | ||
| + | |||
| + | ==== Mar 1, 1995 ==== | ||
| + | |||
| + | Pacific recently bought 2 747-400D's, The high density, short haul aircraft made by boeing designed for High Density routes. The Aircraft are already in service and have helped ease the pressure on the airlines smaller, Mid Range fleet, allowing them to sell some older Aircraft. | ||
| + | |||
| + | It was also announced that Pacific had ordered some 747-400 STD for long haul services, to be fitted in a 12/55/390 configuration it will give passengers the most comfort experienced in the airline. With this order comes some replacement aircraft for the older 737-300 which where expected to be replaced by A319 but instead were replaced by newer 737-300's. This is the start of a close relationship with boeing which could see the airline switching over to a more boeing based fleet by the turn of the century. | ||

| + | ==== Jan 1, 1995 ==== | ||
| + | |||
| + | Pacific have just completed there 6th Hub at Cebu with a 5 gate terminal. | ||
| + | |||
| + | The airline is expected to be replacing there current A320-200 series aircraft with the 737-400 and 800 when boeing announce it. This is due to the high demand for the A320-200 aircraft by Airbus. They have also placed numerous orders in for the A320 series with 30 orders for the A319-100, A320-200 A321-200 and an order for 10 A321-100 (2 are now in service). Pacific also placed orders for 15 original F-100, 10 737-400 and 5 A340-200. Most of the recently delivered aircraft were used to refresh the fleet to newer aircraft/ | ||

| + | ==== May 15, 1994 ==== | ||
| + | |||
| + | Today, Pacific Airways have announced the completion of there Gold Coast, Australia Hub. This will allow them to fly passenger's to the Sunshine coast in QLD as-well as connecting passenger's from rural australian city's to there global network. Oliver Cooksey, CEO and owner had this to say. "This is another big step for us. We know, just like many of our alliance member airlines just how hard competition is in countries like Australia and we will be working hard over the next few months to set up a network there. We have a load of A321 and F-100 on order and these all should be planted on routes operating out of OOL within the next year. We have also opened up a hub there to allow for connections on to our open network". OOL, Gold Coast is there first hub out of Asia. | ||
| + | |||
| + | In other news, Pacific Airways has ordered 5 more A340's, all predicted to be used to connect OOL to the 4 other, asian hubs. There are rumors going around that pacific will place orders for 5 A320's that will, according to a news article from last year, be replacing older A320 models. | ||

| + | ==== October 17, 1993 ==== | ||
| + | |||
| + | Pacific airways CEO and Owner, Oliver Cooksey has just announced an order of 5 A321-100's. With rumors about these aircraft being used to replace the current A321-200 fleet he said"...Thats Bull ****. These aircraft will be used on completely new routes, expanding our network. Even though they have a lower range then the A320-200, they will be great on trips in which the F-100'S can't reach. These aircraft will be replaced by the A320-200 series when Airbus release it in a few years time. We will also be leasing some more A340-200's and F-100's over the next few months. Though we have recent loaned a high amount of A320's, we will not be buying anymore(Except for fleet renewal) for a few month's, allowing us to buy our current fleet in which we own 59 aircraft (all but 37 A320's.)" This is a big step forward for Pacific and should secure them financially for some time to come. | ||
